well... im thinking now that maybe the gt didnt have bloat? seems like the meds arent doing anything and his belly hasnt been swollen. he does still however have the stringy white poop. so does anyone know what else it could be... and if it could be something else, im treating him with metronidazole...says its for all kinds of bactera infections, should i try something different?

I use the freezer method as well but only as a last resort. Some people use clove oil also. As far as your GT. If it has white stringy poop it has internal parasites. Use something with praziquitile in it to treat it. I have used parasite clear several times with good results and it is cheap. I would up your water changes as well and test your water to make sure nothing is out of whack. Looks like your answer is this

Try parasite clear, you can get it a petsmart. Sounds like it still has some internal parasites. The white stuff you see is generally the fish passing damaged intestinal lining. Get it treated and then it will still probably take several days if not a week or 2 for it to start eating if it makes it.

alrighty i know i havent uploaded the pics yet but ive been super busy, just an update.. hes still not eatting.. but acting like a normal fish other than that. and his belly is not sunk it..i thought for sure it would be atleast by now. Ive tried the parisite clear and ive been doing that for 3 days now. nothings really changed? Isnt there a Fish Doctor out there somewhere??? I dont know what to do with him anymore, i dont want to kill him cuz he acts just fine. I told my husband i wish he would either get sicker so i wouldnt feel bad about killing him, or get better already!!! and i dont know how long its suppose to take for the parisite stuff to work either. anyhow, just thought you all would like to know how things were going.
Oh and the oscars are much happier W/O the GT in there, and there scales ...well where there scales use to be is starting to look better.

They will not just start back eating after internal parasites. It will take time for it's digestive track to heal. Generally 2 weeks or so. 2-3 treatments of parasite clear is all you need. Just be patient now. As long as it is acting normal don't do anymore treatments other then salt and slightly elevated temp 82-84.
