The Maculatus at the moment won't leave each others sides. Hopefully that won't change. I've read it is best to keep them in groups of 6+. The problem is you can't find 6 of them.
The johanna you pictued are both female. The lower picture is just a baby. Males have less purple/pink on the bodies but a lot more red on there dorsal fin. The females in most of the pike groups are actually more desirable. There are a few exceptions to this.
I only stayed for a very little bit of the auction. I was tired and I bought a fish that wasn't bagged that I needed to get home. Plus I wanted to get the maculatus home as soon as possible. The only fish I bought at the auction was the large show heros notatus. It was mislabled as a green severum all week and was sold as a green severum. I bid $10 and was the only bid ;D. I could sell that fish on aquabid for $150 tonight if I wanted. Just got lucky and found a deal. All the new fish are in there tanks and settleing in. SOme are a little beat up and stressed after a long week but look to be recovering well.

. Anything really cool? I wanted to stay but need to get the fish I bought Friday night home and was worried about the severum with the crappy way they had packed it. Thankfully I caught Ken's supply right as they were packing up and he sold my 2 of the huge cooler liner bags. I rebagged him and hit him with the O2 and he seemed to perk back up. He is pretty beat up from his mistreatment.
