The couple we got this pleco from said it's a blood pleco. I can only find an emperor's blood pleco and that's not him. Looks like a gold nugget to me. What do you think? They said he was super hard to get and they're sensitive.  |

Gold Nugget or Sunshine, but probably L81-gold nugget.

I'm convinced you're right. It's not big enough to be a sunshine. And I was thinking how the color isn't quite as black as I'd expected but I read where they possibly lose some of the color as they grow older. If that's the black they lose then this is right on the mark because he's not midnight black when looking at the pic and he's not a baby. She's had him a long while. She bought him from the store that used to be by the airport you were talking about Jon. At least I think so. They said they shopped there frequently and they had a lot. Also said it was really expensive, hard to get, they told her it was sensitive, and the first one she got died but they replaced it with this one and he's been fine.
