I am pretty excited 2 have both my Enantiopus melanogenys, now known as Xenotilapia melanogenys holding. I looked right down the middle of the mouth and it looks to be about 8-12 eggs in both. I will keep you posted.

Aren't those the fish that Ad Konig said were his favorite fish and that were so hard to breed? Amazing.

Not sure what he thinks of them, I have a hard time reading through all the scientific geeky parts of the fish profiles. Too distracted. But they're the dream cichlids and one of my favorite! A dream to obtain one, that's for sure.

Stripped fry last night, I got about 15 each from both on my first strip. I think with these guys I am going to start separating the females and let them go full term, because they are fighters, and slippery. I probably dropped them ten times. This morning both were still alive.
