looks like an azureus.
I had some large males that came in one time that were solid blue that put my wild caught ahli's to shame. Very peaceful fish.

What do you think of the possibility it might be this type of mbenji? c. sp. mbenji blue cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=2309 This was suggested as being him on another site and it sure is close if not a match. And then I remembered someone saying it here too when he was very small so I went back on the What Is It section to where I brought him home and said don't think it's a borleyi. Tomtom said mbenji possibly back then when he was small . Good eye tomtom, but I also saw where I had mentioned he and the champsochromis were pals. They still are--it didn't even cross my mind that it was obvious then. But in the newest champsochromis pic there he is right above him. Hanging out together. The champ has a girl though, so he's gonna get pushed aside one of these days.

yea I think your right. I have never owned a Mbenji so not sure how aggressive they are but I do know most Copas. get pretty big.

C. Mbenji, will normally try to dominate the tank. Very nice fish, but can be pushy and borderline aggressive.

He has a pushy borleyi to deal with. So far not too bad. It actually was worse before he came along--the borleyi was killing everything remotely like him.
