;DI am so excited. We have ten new babies in the house. A few weeks ago we went to Jon's and got some new fish. Well one of the females was holding, and if not then right after was. This is my first time with a holding fish, stripping and now trying to keep them growing. I stripped her on Thursday and everyone seems to be doing great. Right now we have them in a bucket with a filter on it. They still had some of their egg sacks when we striped but they are gone now. Some are more active than others but everyone is swimming around like they might make it. I am interested to see how this works out. If anyone has any pointers for a new mom that is new to this hobby feel free to offer them up. I feel like I did when I had my daughter, this is all new waters for me.
BTW. I am not good with names but I am almost positive the parents are flametail peacocks.

Flametail Ngara? Pretty fish. Keep them warm, and keep their water clean. When you change water match the temp of the new water with the temp of it in the bucket. It's easiest with no substrate for a while, and feed them as much as 5x a day but small meals. 3x a day will work fine, but 5x makes them grow fast and keeps their little bellies full. You'd be moving to 3x in just a couple of weeks and then 2x a month later if not sooner, depending on how fast they grow. So it's only inconvenient for a little while. If you feed them crushed flakes you probably have to wiggle your fingers in the water to get them to sink. The new babies don't come up for food. Unfortunately, some of mine never got over that and still want me to push their food down even though they're about an inch long. Trying to wean them. Congratulations Mom! I'm happy for you! Can't wait to see pics of them.

This is Amber on Will's profile but I just wanted to let everyone know that all ten fry are doing great and growing fast. I am so excited. We also have two more females holding. One Greman Red and the other Flametail Ngara. We are going to have fry everywhere soon. This is a lot easier than I thought it would be.
