Good thing we didn't see these when we were there. We'd have been bringing some home!

What are there water parameters? How much for them @ 1"

In the wild, they are found in a PH between 6.2 and 6.8 and VERY little hardness. Tapajos- Orange Head are also the slowest growing of all Geophagus and only reach about 7-8". 8" being very rarely seen. My adults are about 7" including trailers.
I have them in an approximate PH of 7.5 and GH 120 ppm. They are not too picky about water parameters. Inchers will go for $10.

How are the babies coming Jamie? Were you able to snag the last 2 batches when the mom released them before they were eaten?

How are the babies coming Jamie? Were you able to snag the last 2 batches when the mom released them before they were eaten? They're doing great. I have one batch strictly on NLS Grow Formula pellets and various brands of flake. The other younger batches are doing even better than a few of my previous ones, growing like weeds and almost ready to go into the growout tank! I will have some available very soon if your neighbor still wants some. Just let me know how many he wants so I can hold them.

I got some eartheaters from jamie last week and I'll have to give in to the SA temptation. I am an african man through and through, but I really like these I got from Jamie for the same reason I love the africans- color. I bought a pair of the orange head, and Acarichthys Heckli and then I traded for some convicts and there you go, the African man has a tanks of south americans. To stay true I mixed in a frontosa, but I love this tank. I will post picks when they get settled in all the way.

Glad to hear Jon! I lucked out when I first bought the Heckeli, usually they are more aggressive than the pair I sold you. You will love the nature of the Orangeheads too, extremely docile. Jon, I should have traded you fish for a photoshoot of my fish. I need to add to my thread but I can't seem to take any worthy pics...... (cries for N I K O N D-90)

Angel might take you up on that too. I have them in the same tank- is that cool or will the Heckeli pester the orangeheads.
