Oh yeah, I'm mixing them with Frontosas too- might not work, but I am keeping an eye on them.

Angel might take you up on that too. I have them in the same tank- is that cool or will the Heckeli pester the orangeheads. They should be fine as long as the heckelli don't breed. Just keep an eye one them and make sure there isn't too much nipping. The fronts should work well with them. I've seen them mixed with geo's a lot. Welcome the the new world Jon!!!! I think you might find them a little more appealling then you think. Petstore SA/CA fish just don't do much credit for what is out there and what they can look like.

I had a SA tank a while back, but I will admit that I didn't give it a chance. But I guess your recommendation is to separate them then. Could I put the Heckelli with my Kavalla Fronts and the Geo with the 7 stripe? My goal is to have them all breed, and I don't have much tank space for the breeding.

Or I could use a tank divider in the 90 and keep them in the same tank.

I think you are fine for now. The heckelli are not close to full grown and it should be a while before the breed. If they do start breeding a divided 90g would be fine.

These fish have the saddest looking faces. To me it looks like they are sulking...

Sorry Jon, not as quick as J.D. at answering The four I sold you were in the same tank together though they did have quite a few tankmates to help spread out aggression. Though I'm sure there will be nothing more than chasing each other out of their respective areas. Pegasus, they do look sad, LOL. I think my Alpha male was "flexing" for the camera, looks like his gills are flared.

I was off today and couldn;t go anywhere this morning because I was waiting for my EBJD's to show up. Board out of my mind so I did a lot of forum reading this morning.
