Sand replaces gravel, more structures added.

Where are you getting your rocks from, Tina? Most of the wild ones I have are large and round.

Thank you ma'am. That gives me something to do this weekend. Wait... it's not limestone, is it? You can test by pouring a little white vinegar on a dry piece. If it bubbles, then there's calcium in it.

Looks great, I just hope one don't get spooked and knock down your work. This is Dennis' tank right?

Did you get your sand from the pool supply by food lion? I bought regular sand to put in my 46, but others have been telling me not to use that. What do you think?

I've heard that play sand from hardware stores is acceptable. Just rinse it well.

Play sand works, but if you use a python or even a vacuum and bucket you can suck a lot of sand out with every water change. The only reason to go with pool sand is it has larger grains.

The play sand only cost $3.50 for a 50lb bag. I think I may go ahead and by the pool sand then. I haven't put it in the tank yet. Dennis and Angel also suggested the pool sand. Thanks

We could use the bags to add traction to the rear of our trucks. The Jeep fishtails any time it rains because of the posi-trac.

Yes we get it at the store by Food Lion. The rocks are mostly slate. There's a bit of sandstone or something, but it's not limestone. (I used to obsess over native rock identification so some of them are pretty easy. Obsessing over fish is more fun, though!)

Yes it's Dennis' tank. He thinks they're steady, but I'm not convinced on some of them. Time will tell, I guess.

Oops! Sorry for modifying your post! Here's what I wanted to say for myself:
Cool. I'm just worried about putting something in my tropical tank that's going to raise the pH or hardness. Thanks for the info!
