Got mbuna from Joe. Here are some I'm not sure what they are. I can guess, but I'm likely wrong. At first I thought albino red zebra, but then it was looking like a greshakei, but still albino. The blue one just above him to the left is in question too. There's a closer pic of him in the next frame. This one looks a lot like the cobwe I got from Jon, but the cobwe's not yellow. Could it be a flavus? and is this its mate or something else? Not sure if this is the previous yellow fish or another. It looks different but you know fish and how they like to change! And then there's this one. It looks like the lions cove polit sometimes. I THINK that's it for the mystery fish.

I am going to go out on a limb and say cichlids with one female holding. The last one is a polit, and the one with the yellow/orange top is Cynotilapia afra (Cobue) and dark blue should be the females also answered other question about falvus via email. I don't know about the albino as I stated in email (store fish sold as albino zebra) Joe

Great looking pick ups angel. I like the mottled/spotted one the best. Very interesting pattern it.
As for the ID's, well one is a blue african, one looks sort of like a yellow african, and I'll call the one I like a calico african ;D.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Angel and I were just making fun of my african cichlid knowledge earlier.

LMAO!!!! And the mottled one is a red top marmalade trewavasae. If I spelled that right! I call them snubby. They have bulby noses. Very neat.

The lions cove is the one hiding its head behind an orange fin. Now I'm wondering if the deep like midnight blue ones with a little yellow on the tail edge are female lions cove or what? I still don't know what they are. The tank is full of action--but only the one minor scuffle. Still watching.

I like the females a lot. They're maybe what some hobbyists would think of as plain but they really are pretty and their faces are different. Kinda like they have a 'tude. The rustys I had heard were pretty docile as mbuna go but you know, I've had more issues with rustys than any other mbuna I've kept, including the kenyi. I had two before and one killed the other, then that one got killed by a melanochromis which I quickly got rid of, then I got another two and the one killed the other and I ended up selling the one that was the murderer. Now these 4 -- they're in the 125, plenty of room--are sparring. And they seem to handle it better with all the other fish in the tank, but one is holding so that'll be nice. I think they're very pretty.

Just as an aside, I love how new hobbyists and not yet hobbyists will come over and see the mbuna etc tank, and think they're salt water. Almost every variety is gorgeous.
