Put a green terror with a tinfoil barb? And how would a gourami fare in a tank with a green terror? We have an extra green terror, and fishtail has a tank with two blood parrots, a large tinfoil barb, and a gourami. Very heavily planted. We've had the green terrors with blood parrots and they were ok with hiding spots, but not sure about the others. I'd like to give her the extra fish if it will work. He's getting, well, terrorized by the pair he lives with!

What size is the tank? What kind of gourami?
Lots of people keep Tin foil barbs with large mean cichlids. They are tough and good dither fish. The problem is that tin foil barbs get huge!!! It might work, it might not. If the gt is small it will probably work for a while. GT's are known to go ape s#@t at about 7-8" though. If it does not have enough space it could put a hurting on the parrots or gourami once it gets some size. Every fish is a little different though. I would try it and see.
Be warned that once you remove the other GT your pair won't have another one to beat up on and may start bickering among themselves. Some pairs stay perfectly bonded. With others sometimes when you remove a rival the dominate male then changes his focus to the female. If she isn't ready to breed sometimes he doesn't respond so nicely. Just keep an eye on them. Hopefully your pair will play nice.

It's about 4" now. The tank looks to be a 75G. I was expecting it was a 55 but it's wider. Have an idea of good dither fish for green terrors then? I don't want em to beat up on the odd man out but don't want them to fight to the death either. The gourami is blue. I didn't see it it was hiding.
