All I have in Jackson is Petco and Petsmart. There is another little fish shop 20 min away, but all any of these places have is a selection of 5 species or so. I didn't know there was this much out there.

I bought The Cichlid Lexacon one Christmas for my husband. It is AMAZING how many there really are. The book is so colorful and tells where each fish is from and when it was discovered. I need to find it in case anyone needs any information.... The only bad thing about it is, they do not use any common names so trying to figure out if you are looking at the correct fish can be confusing.

The best guide for common names is cichlidforum.com. Or post the proper name on here. I might try to start a forum here to put names with common names.

Haha, fish jitters. I know exactly what you mean. There's one tiny little shop where I live and they usually have a couple small tanks of cichlids but they're usually the same every week. Nice people and they're fish enthusiasts, but very limited on selections.
