125 gallon i picked up off craigslist a couple of weeks ago. i upgraded from a 55 which has been my sole tank for about the past 15 years. 2 emperor 400 power filter 1 emperor 280 power filter 1 marineland hot 250 filter 60 pounds lace rock 40 pounds texas holey rock 120 pounds substrate - mixed caribsea white argonite, tahitian moon sand, and african cichlid mix current stock list: Copadichromis borleyi, Labidochromis caeruleus Aulonocara Stuartgranti Aulonocara jacobfreibergi Sciaenochromis fryeri Altolamprologus calvus Altolamprologus compressiceps Cyphotilapia Frontosa Burundi Nimbochromis venustus OB Otopharynx lithobates synodontis ocellifer albino Ancistrus sp. i realize i am overstocked for adults but everyone here is a juvenile except the Stuartgranti and yellow lab. my plan is probably to move the aulonocara over to a 55 on standby when these guys get bigger.

Your tank looks great! You will have some really beautiful fish when they are full grown. Keep us updated.

here is a nice shot of the male iceberg haplochromine i got from you Georgene: this guy really is stunning, i can't wait to see him once he gets older. even at such a small size he truly is much better than the average electric blue ahli you see at petsmart.

You have some great pics, what type camera do you use? Your fryeri has a ton of color for the size.

You have some great pics, what type camera do you use? Your fryeri has a ton of color for the size. thanks. georgene said the fryeri is one of your stock. the camera is a canon s90. its about the best point and shoot camera you can buy before you start getting into dslr. here's gizmodo's review. i'm still playing around with some of the settings and trying to figure out how to get good pictures of my fish. some of the initial pics i took of the tank and fish (the ones posted here) were with the camera's "aquarium" scene mode. i am not really happy with those, too much blue and the whites especially in the holey rock are very washed out. also it is very hard to get a good picture with automatic settings because all too frequently the auto-focus will focus on the background and not the foreground fish. that picture of the fryeri was done in program mode with manual focus. took a while to get him to hold still and puff his fins out, but it came out much better than my previous photos

for point and shoot, that is some of the best I have seen The s90 excels in low light which is great for aquarium shots f 2.0 is rare for a point and shoot.

here are a few more pics juvenile eureka red peacock (thanks jon!) a couple shots of one of my female labs, i am pretty sure she is holding altolamprologus black calvus in the background burundi frontosa i suspect both of my female labs are holding. both have widened mouths and are hiding most of the time now instead of swimming like they were up until today.

i've made some revisions. added another large piece of holey rock and about 30 more pounds of lace rock. i'm finally happy with the way everything looks. all the juveniles are very happy weaving in and out of all the new caves.
