These are giant! Like 6"+. I was thinking more like 8, but I'm sure it's just the surprise that they're this big. I think one of them is the upside down catfish, as you'll see by the picture he looks upside down to me. I have an upside down but it's only an inch or so. Do they get this big ? The other I just don't know. and a red jewel wanted in on the action!

that synodontis looks just like mine which is an ocellifer. petsmart sells them mislabeled as something else, i can't remember what though. i got him at petsmart about 2 years ago and now he is about 8" mine is very tame and pretty shy. he got hlle pretty bad at one point which stopped spreading but left bad scars. www.scotcat.com/mochokidae/s_ocellifer4.htm

Very similar. Many of those are blue and this one isn't, but then it was just moved today so I'll keep watching. I wonder if that could be it? Only ones I've seen at Petsmart were the upside down and got one. It never grows. But it looks just like the other one in the pictures so it's a good bet.

Nice looking cats! I wish I had the room for a big tank and could have fish like that. Someday...... You really scored on some nice fish! Lucky girl.

Ok the other one is a synodontis eupterus. I remember Vincent saying one was feather. Looked that up and sure enough--it looks like that upside down guy to a T! That's the eupterus.

Well this one's probably an ocellifer--my first guess was he was 8" and they can get that big, and you said yours is that big. Good eye.

i just measured to make sure. 7.5 inches. i would post a pic but the HLLE scars are unsightly. its had them since it was small.
mine is a good tank mate. it doesn't mess with anyone and no one messes with it. if they do it shows them who is boss. it only eats maybe once a week but when it does its like a vacuum cleaner. it will come up to the surface, open its mouth above the water, wait for me to dump pellets in its mouth. smart fish, ahahaha.

I think the first one might be Synodonti njassae, the second fish I think might be either a eupterus, depending on the dorsal fin or a nigrita, both fish get 6-8 in
