I will get pictures up after they settle down in their new tank. I am hoping that they will love their new home and start to breeding before too long.

Thanks every one. They have colored up beatifully but. I had to put the female in a breeding net. She has been beating on the male (she is bigger and more robust than he is) and not letting him eat. So she gets the punishment. I was going to put him in the net but hey he wasn't the problem. She will come right up to me if I open the tank top to feed them. Eats out of my hand. I am feeding the male and now he is eating and I hope the chunk she took out of his tail will heal well. I will try to get some pics later today of them. I think that they are really pretty fish. Will keep you all updated. I hope once he gets his strength up and I can put her back into the tank they will spawn. You can bet that after they do spawn and the male is holding the eggs she will be right back into the net.

Smart to put her in isolation. If they're like other bettas, and the female isn't ready to breed, if the male comes around her she'll keep at him til she kills him.

The male would never eat well and I think he might have been week from the beginning he died a couple of days ago. I emailed the guy I bought them from and he told me he would send me a male when they come in the 19 of this month. So next week I should be getting a male for me female. I really like her. Full of spunk and eats out of my hand every day. Nice for a wild caught. She is staying in the net though till the male gets here and I know he is strong. The one thing that surprised me about the male that died is his colors were beautiful even after he died.

Oh no. Sorry to hear that. Bettas usually ship really well--maybe they had no idea of his age and it was just his time.

That could be as they are wild caught. But the female is awesome. I just hope for a good male next time.

My new male came yesterday. He was a hungry little pig. I have him in the net in the tank, for his own safety. The female has colored up quite a bit and is hanging around the net, He is quite a bit smaller than her so he will need his strength before I set him free in the tank. I will try to get some pics today.
