I was told today that sand sifting fish are no good because they spit sand on the corals. Stars do the same? My goby is supposed to be a bad choice because of that. But a good choice because he turns the sand over. It's very confusing.

the star just moves threw the sand, comes atop the sand ocasionally when fish are being feed, very safe.as far as the goby, wellll it really depends on what kind of coral you would have most all lps(large polyp sstony) would be a no,what you have should be ok

Oh yeah and no starfish with corals . I love starfish These are all the things I wanted a tank for. It's getting frustrating. Ouch what can you have with them?

Angel, I have a 75 gal with coral and I also have a sand sifting goby and a coral beauty angelfish. Niether of the two bother my corals. With the angels the smaller ones are just a chance, but it is a chance worth taking.

i dont know know who was giving all the info about what u cant have but i have to disagree with alot of it.i have a 75 gallon reef and i have a long spine urchin, flame angel ,serphant star and a sand siftting star.and had no problems with any of them.i do have to say though that the sea urchin was always knocking everything over with its spine i was having to set corals up 2 or 3 times a day which does get old.your coral beauty might eat on mantles of a clam if u get one.
