So, I have completely bleached the tank and some of my supplies to get rid of the white fuzzies. But after much thought, I'm pretty sure the cause was high nitrates. I used the water from my larger tank to setup my hospital tank and I found out this week that the nitrates were off the chart. I forgot I did this. So, I've thoroughly rinsed the tank and run it with dechlorinated water. I think I'm ready to put "fresh" water in it and try again. Should I do anything else before I put water from the tap in it? It's a hospital tank so I will just have an air pump and heater in it. I'm not sure how others have theirs setup... Any suggestions?

Chlorine dissipates in the open air, so you'll be fine. Bet you're right.

Need. Fire.
Any update? Sounds like you need an anti-parasite medication from your local shop.....they also sell anti-fungal medications as well. I would invest in some and treat all of your tanks that you have as you have shared equipment between tanks. You should also dry out and sterilize your siphon hose too.
Sorry Jess. No way around this. And your green water will probably come back too. Low light with a short photoperiod should keep this at bay....or you could throw some plants in there to outcompete the algae (Green Water). If you need help, let me know and we can discuss via PM.

Well the only way to know for sure is to take several containers fill it up with the hose and without the hose. Then wait.
If it grows in both then it is the water source. If only one then you have your answer.
As for the worms, I never worry about them. I would get them time to time. They either were ate or died. Usually they are harmless.
