Anybody here raising, or have any, or have access to, any really good stock of the Red Tailed 1/2 black Guppies ? They used to be called the German Rose Guppies years ago. Please let me know if you do, or know of anyone. Thanks. ree123

I'm trying to get into guppies. I just bought some red albino fry from rick grigsby in UT. Pretty excited.

Thanks Bunnie, but my passion is the reds and 1/2 black reds. My all time favorite fish is the F.W. Angel and BN Pleco's, which I have many of. My next favorites are the smaller varities of Central, S.A., and African river Cichlids. Then the 2 colors of gups.
I have found a fellow that has some Moscow Reds and maybe some 1/2 black reds, and he has said I can produce my own 1/2 black reds within 3 generations. I am unfamiliar with what I would cross to get what, so I am waiting for his answer of details. Will let ya know here, what he says.

Hey Bunnie, I may take you up on some of your Blue Moscow's after all. I have been told if I use a 1/2 black yellow male and a blue or blue moscow female, then raise their fry, I should have some decent sized dirty 1/2 black reds. Then I am to cross the best male and the biggest female with the most tail color into 2 of the opposite sex of a red line. This is suppose to give me really good 1/2 black red fry. Then I breed 1/2 black red to 1/2 black red. Then I cross back to the blue or 1/2 black yellow and back to red from time to time. I am not that bright when it comes to all the genes stuff, but since I have been given this info., I was wondering if you might have 6, or two trios, you would consider selling me ? 2 nice young males and 4 large young females ? Do you have them to part with ?

That was pretty confusing to me too! I definately have them to part with... probably a hundred or more. You're welcome anytime to stop by and see what I've got. I keep the guppies in tap water and they do just fine. I have a bunch of them all together. I don't get many surviving babies with all the adults to eat them.

Bunnie, I would need enough to keep a line going and maybe a few extra females to cross. Blue Moscow deltas, correct ? Will you PM or e-mail me to let me know where stop by is located ? I assume you mean home.? Maybe one day next week I could pick some up from you. I would also like to know please if they are gonna be pricy.

Do any of you guppy keepers add salt to the water? I was told by someone locally that guppies prefer salty, almost brackish water. I've never done it, though, since they still breed like crazy in regular water. Just curious, I guess!

I have always read that they tolerate salt well, but have never added it on purpose.
