Beautiful pics! Maybe at our next swap/meet you could give us some photography tips. I have a Canon T1i but have never been able to take pics that look that good!

We are planning for Jon to be one of two speakers @ the fall swap/meet. It will be an event no one will want to miss ! Lots of planning is under way, and all of you will hear of it soon. :-)

And, he is going to speak on photography and how we can all take improved pictures. I personally, am looking forward to the lecture and instructions.

Awesome! It's kind of sad to have such a nice camera and use it on auto. I've just never taken the time to learn how to tweak things. Sounds like the fall swap/meet is going to be a great one!

Wonderful pics Jon - how did you get that black background like that was it part of the tank?
allierw - I too have a decent DSLR and can't take a good picture unless it's on 'auto' , very frustrating. I try 'manual' and try the low aperture and high shutter but it's all blurry.
Guess I joined the forum a week to late and missed the fall meetup ... I'll try for the next one.

All my tanks are painted with flat black. This helps contrast with fish color. I keep the entire room dark and black so all you see is fish.

Jon - the effect is wonderful. Do you have links to some pics of your 'fish room' ? I'd love to check them out. What do you do to 'hide' the filter/heaters/tubes?

I have some pics on my website, and probably buried here somewhere. I dont use heaters, and everything is hiden behind an in tank foam filter. Might have a video or two here under the video section. I am not too far away from carthage, near hwy 109 and hwy 70.
