There are a few african cichlids that specialize in eating snails, I have never had a problem with snails because my africans have always eaten them before there was a problem. At my house I had a 10g tank that I had fry in and I let my snails multiply like crazy.

I would then put them in with my haps for a snack, that is when the fry didn't eat them first.
