Have you considered painting the back of the tank?

Have you considered painting the back of the tank? Hah! I got ninja'd. What mruble said... I painted my 29 with some rustoleum I got at walmart and I love it! -Rick (the armchair aquarist)

Oh I have all that. I am upgrading so I have most that I need...As for the fishless cycle I am just using the filters from my 75 and some of the substrate on the bottom from my established 75.

And my girl is really OCD about the black backgrounds...She makes them perfect. She spent 2 hours on my 55 until all little bubbles were out lol

i've painted and used black background but i've found the adhesive black background to be better than both of those.

Adhesive black background? Is it available at any Pet Store? How hard is it to apply?

I think you'll find 1 heater is sufficient. I'm running the 250s on all my tanks and I just have 1 in my 125 and my 180.

I purchased an adhesive black background from Aquatic Critter in Nashville and LOVE IT!

What makes it better than the other ones? How does it apply? Would Petsmart or something carry it? Not going to Nashville anytime soon.

my biggest complaint about the normal background is that it doesn't look even... it creases and crinkles and doesn't appear flat. also if you get water between it and the tank it looks bad.
the adhesive stuff is sticky. you apply a layer of soapy water so you can place it. once the water evaporates the adhesive sticks to the glass. its a smooth finish that looks the same as paint but won't require scraping to remove.
i'm sure you could order it online.
