I have a canon t1i rebel. I prefer canon over nikon. If you've never handled one it helps to play with each one like at best buy before you decide to purchase.

it is a matter of personal preference. it would be silly to argue that either one is better than the other. they are both comparable.

I've had bunches of Nikons, but currently use a Fuji X100. I love that little thing.

I like Canon because they are generally lighter and smaller than their Nikon counterparts. They had video before Nikon and that factored into my decision, too, but that doesn't matter so much anymore. The menus also seem more intuitive and easy to navigate. I don't generally read the manual. That's why I suggested trying a few out. I had a coworker who was diehard Nikon but kept having processor problems. He'd send it back, Nikon would repair it, and it was still messing up. He tried my old XTi rebel and decided he liked Canon better. Some would say lens quality on Nikon is better, but a casual, non-professional user is not going to notice much difference either way.

well i am looking to spend no more than 400$ ,and on ebay you can get most d50-70s for about 200-300 bodies ,and macro lens are about 90-150$ not sure about 90s not even looked in to them yet.
As far as what camera to use I am not sure i am a total Noob, but by me going with nikon i will be sure to have a ton of extra parts here at work because they are always upgrading the lens ,and batteries and what not.
The camer you are talking about from Cannon has removable lens?

if you are looking for the mother of all point and shoots, look into the canon s90, s95, or s100. the s95 and s100 are just newer versions of the s90.
most reviews across the board agree it is the closest you are going to get to a dlsr that will fit in your pocket.
i have the s90 and it is incredible. a lot of the pictures i have posted are from my s90.

That is a nice camera, but this time i want to do it right, I want removeable lens, and places to attach slaves to. I have 3 small camers just like the one you posted for when we go out to random places, but this time i want a bigger better camera.

The d70 is similar to the d90. The d80 replaced the 70 nd then the 90 replaced the 80, and now the 7000 replaced the 90.
I would look for a used d5000 that is a cheaper version if the d90, the d70 is a good camera, but the sensors and processors are outdated. The 5000 might be a couple hundred more, but there is a reason. If you get a d70, it is at best 10 years old, so be careful, some people can be rough on cameras.

And I can answer the question of which is better, nikon or canon...
Whichever has the newer model out. They go back and forth beating each other. If you are talking older cameras it doesnt matter, anything newer will be better.
