My experience with sand taught me not to buy cheap play kiddie sand.
I realize you all are discussing the black sand, prob. from a different source, but a word of warning,
READ THE LABEL on the bag to be sure it does not elude to ground glass.
Kiddie play sand kills fish by cutting bellys, fins, and gill filaments and the fish basically bleed to death from wounds.
Just be aware when buying/using sand, of the ingredents and/or process of manufacturing.
