My name is Don; my wife and I recently (about a month ago) relocated from St. Louis to The Nash and have a home in Goodlettsville. Found this site via ThePlantedTank, and I've been a pretty active member on APC until my back went out on me a few years ago and I had to take a few years leave.
I do a ton of travel for my job, as I work in sales for a large biotech. I have restarted my custom made 200 gallon square tank. It is a high-tech set up, using 12 HO T5 Giesemann bulbs for lighting, pressurized CO2, etc. I have kept Apistos, and currently have Rainbow Cichlids along with variety of tetras and nerites. My "forte" (I guess) would be my plants, which maybe I can share some of my knowledge with "y'all."
However, i am a novice when it comes to cichlids...my fish survive just fine, and whereas I enjoy cichlids, they usually make a good mess of a planted tank, so I've had to leave them (mostly) out of my tanks. Dwarfs are pretty cool, but I have a TON to learn. Which is what I am going to do here.
I've hit the Critter already. That place is pretty nice!
Anyhow: (obligatory) Hi there!

Welcome to the forum. You are the second person into plants to come here within a week. It is great to get so much knowledge in different areas of the hobby in one place. If you have questions ask away. Also post some pics of your tank/fish. We love pics!!!

So glad you have found us Don and Ms. Don. Are both of you hobbyists ? We love your pictures ! We will be looking forward to many more conversations about plants with you. Plants vs. Cichlids -or- Plants with Cichlids, has been an interesting discussion and you will fit right in. Converse and enjoy !

Oh boy! :-) I don't think anyone caught my sarcasm! My wife's name is Alaina, but I call her Mrs. Don sometimes. She doesn't really like fish or planted aquariums either. Otherwise, she's a pretty cool chick.
Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome! The Mrs. and I both really love the state and the Goodlettsville area!! It feels like home, which is much better than I can say about St. Louis. We are looking forward to exploring the area and meeting the people!

She doesn't like them or she doesn't want to clean them and keep up with them? LOL
