Man that sucks. He doesnt seem stressed and he has his own cave to hide in. If he doesnt get any better should I trade him out to someone with more of his own species?

what are the tank mates? some burundi are darker than others.

Really it matters on his blood line. being a burundi he could just be a darker looking frontosa. burundi has been around the longest ,and are breed easy, so there has been alot of inbreeding that has happened with that blood line. I think your fish is fine, and you should not worry to much about him being stressed out. But if you really like the frontosa types that get more blue and have better baring you might try a dn get some Kavalla, mpimbwe, Kingoma( 7bar) or somethin that will show more of the blues. if you don't mind his coloration than keep him! =)

see here is a guy on aquabid selling these burundi frontosa! they are also colored up dark. This is why when i buy my fish i make sure they are F1.... F1 come from wild adults so the blood lines are very strong.
