I have one daffodil that has started hanging out in a top corner of the tank, away from everyone else. It doesn't look any different from the others and was swimming around with everyone else until today. My frontosa goes up and chases it away from the corner occasionally and he/she swims fast and fine, then goes right back up there.
Any ideas? Thanks

It sounds to me like he is getting chased or bullied. I have a few smaller fish that choose the top corners of the tank as hiding spots when my more aggressive fish are feeling extra territorial.

It could be a pair is forming and driving fish out of its claimed area. I would be a little upset if you get a pair to form cause i sure didnt......lol j/k, but it could be a possibility

I don't think this one's beingbullied any more than any other ones and it's one of the two largest of the daffodils.
Pairing was my second thought. He/she looks fine, swims fine, comes down to eat, etc. The other largest of the six comes up to "check on him" sometimes.
Thanks, both of you.

ok lets talk Pulcher Daffodils, I have had a colony of 11 wild one for some time now. This is what i have noticed ,and I can tell you 100% what is going on by the way you discribed the situation. IMO pulchers are like small armys, and once they are settled with take care of thier own, but once someone in the group is deamed not worthy they will push him, or her out of the group! Just like with most animals that have herds or colonies, the fish will fight for the alpha male rank, and this goes for Pulchers as well... The alpha male will sometimes push othere males or females out of the group ,and once this happens that fish needs to be taken out of the tank or it will die. once the alpha male desides to push another out the rest of the colony will also attack that fish until it is dead!. this starts once they are old enough to breed, around 3" I have even had a older male try to take the alpha rank from the alpha male ,and lose ,once this happens the colony will kill the one who challenged the alpha male.. I know this sounds crazy because they are just fish... but i have seen it over and over again.... matter of fact i just had a male pushed out last week ( i almost did not get to him in time) he is almost better now,and i will have to move some rocks around and introduce him back to the colony. what to do about your fish: If he stays he might hide for a bit but he will end up losing the fight soon enough, unless moved. you will almost always lose one or 2 brichardi (P. daffodils) when the breeding starts, nothing you can really do unless you move the fish. If you want bring the fish with you when you stop by ,and I will swap out yours for one of mine free. maybe they will take to the new one better. I have a ton of Pulchers lol...

Seperate it from the gang. IMO, your fish has found himself @ the bottom of the pecking order and will be killed when you are not looking. Even the docile guppy will do this to other tankmates, so cichlids surely will. IMO, seperate and do it asap.

If you seperate, give him some females and you have 2 colonies which will turn into a few hundred in a hurry

I've spent an hour trying to catch him and no luck yet. Too many hiding places.
