I just got home from Glen's and put 9 "new" frontosas in my tank. My old frontosa is not happy! He's chasing everyone around the tank. Will he settle down?

I would move some rocks around ,and turn the light off for a day . is he beating them up? or just chasing them?
you dont have a problem unless you start seeing a fish looking beaten up. or fins. but with haveing 9 new ones they will need to set rank for sure. Let me know for sure if it gets worst you got my number.

Yeah I have never really had a frontosa that would kill another one, they normaly don't inflict damage, they just kind of bump one another, Is he singaling out a fish or just chasing them all? if he is chasing them all then they are ok. it when they singal out a fish you have to start worring. The should sort all this out in a day or 2. i would leave the light off tomorrow, and if the tank is getting alot of light from the house mabe drape a towel, or sheet over it to keep it dark for 1 day. also enjoyed meeting you tonight ,and If you need any help or have some questions let me know -) can't wait to see them frontosa in a 125Gal ! that will be sweet.

He's chasing them all to some extent; a little more attention to the new biggest one, though. He and my old one are about the same size. I'll leave off the light and drape a towel for today. We'll be gone much of the day today anyway.
Thanks for the help.

alpha male is showing his dominance 70 gallon with 10 fronts better watch them They will do fine in a 75 until they start growing more, I had them in a 30 gal holding tank after I cought them out of the 200gal for Allen to come by and pick up. They got along fine, they are just in a new tank with a frontosa that has no clue what is going on lol... Uno (the biger or the 9) did the same thing when i added the 8 in his tank. Allen Make sure that they have some caves to hide in also frontosas love caves. I Would love to see a Photo of the tank with all the fish in there.

I still have them in the dark and they seem to have settled down. I'll take the towels off tomorrow but leave the aquarium light off for another day.

not a bad idea, what moving things around and turning of the light does is kind of makes them forget what is going on. also it lets the new fish stress level to drop that way they are all on the stress level when the lights come back on. the males will still fight for Alpha but that should end fast.

Things are much calmer today in the ol' 70 gallon world. The old large one still chases the new one a little but not nearly as much. No one appears to have any damage either.
