Well a little over a week ago i picked up 3 WC Eret Cyan Makombe and until last night they all just did there own thing in the tank. Right before i went to bed last night i saw what i think was my big male kind of a better way of saying it would be dancing/flashing right in front of one of the small females. I wasnt sure what are the spawning habbits of these Goby? If you have any idea please let me know.

Most tangs ,and cichlids will dance, but don't look for the female to be holding the eggs with gobies. the males will be hold the eggs not the females. I have 2 pairs right now, they dance but nothing holding =(

the males will be hold the eggs not the females. I have 2 pairs right now, they dance but nothing holding =( Depending on the flavor, you may find that the female holds for a few weeks, then passes them off to the male! I so want a pair of these biparental mouthbrooders! -Rick (the armchair aquarist)

They are bi-parental, female hold about the first couple weeks, then she will pass them off to male that will finish the mouthbrood. Once you get a for sure pair, you might want to move the other female out. I would not strip for any reason, at least on the first batch. But even then you would be risking killing the parent and not gaining much for the risk.

So once the male starts to hold would it be ok to move him to his own tank to spit then put him back in the main tank after?
