so did you get your Angels? Yes and it has not been a good experience. I got 7, one of which was dead by the time I got home. Three others died within a week. Three are left and they seem to be doing fine.

Not to ever knock pet stores, as they can only work with what they receive, but in my many years of experience, most pet stores have a certain percentage of loss, no matter what. There was a store in Knoxville years back called Broadway Pets, and the Critter currently, that seem to experience less loss, and I think it has to do with excellent filtration and maticualously examining the stock and culling as necessary in the display tanks. Most stores today never do all this, IMO.
Buying from home breeders or from a smaller retailer from their home, instead of behind a store front, can provide better survivability, although there is some loss still expected, and a select few one would run across, are no better than the numerous stores, again IMO.

This has all been a steep learning curve for me. I am very thankful I found this forum through the craigslist ad. It has been invaluable and has made my learning much more enjoyable and less financially painful than it could have been. I will mostly stick with buying from the above mentioned private sellers/breeders on this board. It has been a success story so far. This is a great core group of very helpful folks who deal with integrity. Couldn't ask for better.
