My heater on my comp tank stopped working, the tank went down to 60 degrees and my pair didn't make it. It must have happened last night and I didn't notice until I got back today from work and saw the fish floating. At first I was thinking it was the controller (I never had one fail) but it was calling for heat. Man I wish someone would make a reliable heater. I have not found one that worked for more than a year or two. On my other tank I have two heaters on one controller as a safety net. I should have done the same with this tank; dam-it. These were really nice fish that I got from Jon and before this looked like they were getting ready to spawn. Joe

That's one of my biggest fears- malfunction and a couple hundred dead fish.

Oh, Joe I'm so sorry! Damn heaters!! I'm fed up with them! I've got one controller and trying it out but never thought about heater failure and have had two break already. Found out by getting shocked when touching the filter on one tank. That just BITES!

I'm sick over it and they weren't even mine. It's SO sad!

I honestly do not use them. We have our tank near a heating vent. We had some burst on us before so we decided to not use them. I know this isn't possible for everyone though.
