The best part about making road trips is finding and checking out fish stores in the area your in. Well since i plan on retiring here and starting my own online/walkin shop here, im going to do some research and maybe take some pics to share. I know the best store is an hour away in Omaha. So if thats the closet best store i could have a good time with my new shop. Im kind of excited.

As you said, you need to approach/visit every store you see in the area that sells fish and fish products and talk to customers there also ! You need to get a feel of what folks in the area are looking for.
Do they wish they had a store like the Critter, or is the Wal-mart fish dept. perfectly acceptable to most of them.
Without an idea of who and what your new clientele would be, might spell disaster; if you were to open a store in the future that was not high tech enough, or to hi tech.

Well im planning of making the majority of my sales from online ordering like davesfish.com, but all local sales will be a plus. I have started talking to some locals and they wish the had something closer then Omaha that is an hour away.

you need to check out fish freaks in omaha. the address is 10711 mockingbird dr omaha 68127 . 402-934-8588. this store is amazing. the guy started his store about 3 yrs ago. was selling cars name is mike mbovinet.
