Hey guys I bought some driftwood from petsmart the other day and I rinsed it before I put it in my tank. It started growing some white moldy looking stuff on it. Have you all ever run across this? Should I be concerned? Did I do something wrong?

nope, no worries. It is a common and harmless mold that usually disappears in about a week. I know that when I got this several year ago on my new driftwood, my tiger barbs would eat it or pick at it. If you are concerned and just want to get rid of it right now, dose it with a little peroxide to kill it.....it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing that's for sure!

Well that's good news! I was expecting the worst.

I've had this too. I have soaked & scrubbed in clorox and peroxide, but it seems to re-occur w/o rhyme or reason and goes away just the same way. I have never known it to hurt any of my inhabitants.
