Anyone here got any yoyo loaches to part with ? I understand they are as good if not better than clown loaches in controlling snail populations. I have found a source online, but wanted to ask here first.
Also, on the subject of yoyo loaches, anyone ever breed them before ? What about the breeding of any kinds of loaches ? I have never made the attempt or even read up on the breeding of loaches. Who has experience with breeding this species of fish ?

Bump, while hoping for advice on breeding loaches of any type, and while still looking for yoyo loaches, as I understand from my research thus far, that they are the best loach species for controlling over zealous snail populations.

In case anyone wonders where their common name comes from. In this pic you can clearly see it says YOYO on its side.

Thanks for posting the pic's, Fuzzy and Stoney. I have found some of these via a fella in Calif., but must buy 12 to 18 for a good deal. Considering it. No one on AB has listed this fish over the last few weeks, as I check each day.
Everything I read says barring the use of Assassin snails, which are great at controlling ramshorn snails, this particular species of loach will control/consume ramshorn and MTS snails, and other snails as well. I have found no articles to the contrary to date. I have assassin snails, and they indeed do control ramshorn snails and not MTS, as claimed. At least this has been true for me.

Its a fairly common species so id say they can get it and shipping wont cost you anything

I'll investigate. Didn't know big box stores would do that. Thanks for advice.

I dont buy fish from pets mart , or petco because of ich and tailrot!!! they have it most the time in thier tanks. If i did i would set up a 10 gal tank for them to live in a few weeks to make sure.

I'd be surprised if fins of franklin wouldn't order you some. Then again, I've been surprised before.

Investigation (thus far) reveals several willing to order for me with price range from 6.99 to 9.99 ea., plus tax. On line is 3.50 ea. plus shipping, no tax; but I must buy 12 to 18 for the price break. All are suppose to be about 1", no matter the source.
I still wonder how one would breed these. Anybody know or have experience ?
