Gobies from Lake Tanganyika come from the surge habitat similar to the tropheus. Being from this region from the lake, they require clean water that is well oxygenated. Like tropheus, they also eat algae off rocks and need a high concentration of plant material in their diet. If housed with fish such as calvus, feed all fish a pellet or flake that has veggies as a main ingredient. In wild they are also known to injest sand with food to help digestion. These are some of my most requested fish.
These eels have a cool pattern that helps to camaflouge them against the shadows of the rocks in the wild. They can be housed with most Malawi and Tangs. They prefer live or frozen food but can be transitioned to pellets. When kids come by, the eels are their favorite.

My wife is the same way, hates eels. I think most of them are very cool though I've never owned one.
