Ok so I am starting up a Tang Tank with nothing but fish from Jon. Here is what I will start with.
55 Gallon-Check Fluval 405 and Emperor 400-Check Coralife 48" T5HO-Check 40lbs of Carib Sea Cichlid Sand-Check Designs By Nature Slimline Background- Shipped 50lbs of Lace Rock- Sitting at LFS waiting on me
Matt at Designs by Nature has actually picked out a new 3d background that is going to look awesome based on the pics. Now my questions is would any fake plants look good or is it better left alone for a Tang tank? I am almost more excited about completing this tank than I am for the canopy and new R/R 125 going in!

Its all on preference, but my opinion a few fake plants should look good.

Well the LFS didnt have quite as much lace rock as I wanted. Is there anywhere around Mid Tn that has a good assortment?

I guess I'm just cheap. I went with flagstone (which was free for me, since I stole it from my mom's yard, but would be cheap for you, purchased from a landscape store rather than a pet store) -- as a general rule I don't buy rock from pet or fish stores. I heard there were some good landscape/rock places up in TN, but unfortunately I don't remember their names . -Rick (the armchair aquarist)
