I am getting a 55g tank and Jon has agreed to donate some fish. So right now if you have anything extra you would be willing to donate for a good cause please contact myself or Jon. This idea Jon came up with and mentioned it to me a few weeks ago. Jon has helped myself out greatly so thought I would help him with one of his projects. He has also taken care of a lot of others on this forum so chip in what you can and lets get this project done for Jon and RiftFish. We plan on donating this tank to a school and hopefully a science teacher so the kids can learn about the bacteria process and balance of the water parameters and at the same time can learn about genetics. I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting with this tank, but I'm gonna assume its just the tank so below is probably the list of what we may need. If you can give us something I'll put your name next to that item. Once we have everything we will start contacting schools.
Fish (Jon) 55g Tank (BNoel210) Lights Lids Stand Substrate (decotriumph, mruble) Filters (Charden emp 400) Decor Rocks (decotriumph - flagstone) Decor Plants (davidtcb1) Food Air Pump (charden) Bubble Wand Heater (Jess Puff) Thermometer Python Nets (mruble) Power Strip Light Timer (fishguy) Auto Feeder Prime Test Kit Bubble Wand (charden)
Let me know and lets gets this done.

Nice, that is the spirit! If we have a surplus of a donation, we can roll into next donation tank. Also if anyone knows any teachers that would like this service, get them my contact info so I can check them out.

Very good, if we can get 2 set ups, we need to have them in a classroom by April. I am going out of town for a couple weeks, and then summer will be coming soon. During summer tthey will have to put on autofeed and check every couple weeks or give fish back and we can set back up in fall.

I have an extra light timer that I will toss in.
Another good item for the list is a net or two. A power strip would be nice, too.

I have substrate gravel if you want that and enough decor rocks (flagstone and round river rock) for at least two tanks.
If you decide you want to do an additional tank after these first ones are set-up, I have a nice 20 gallon and metal stand that could go in a smaller space. The tank's clean and ready to go. The stand I could clean and paint very quickly.

I have had a lot of interest in the past with biology teachers wanting to teach how traits are passed by breeding albinos with nonalbinos over a couple generations. But also if students learn about how to take care of a tank, maybe five years from now they will be the next generation of hobbyists.

I don't have a whole lot of items to donate but I'm always willing to throw some cash around for a good cause. Is $25 enough to grab something on the list?
