Here are the donation tanks i'm working on. They need to be leak tested, cleaned and maybe resealed. Testing out some filters I had laying around as you can see and soaking some driftwood. Knocking out a few birds with one stone.

I will start the teacher search. I will contact a couple of local high schools. Anyone else that has a lead send me contact info because we might have a couple tanks to set up. We might have to wait until fall, but I would like all set up so first day of class tank is up and running.

OK well I started a dialogue with the Ag department at South Warren. This was the response I recieved
Mr. Wilson,
I received your information from Mrs. Tudor about the fish program. The Agriculture department had some tanks donated to us from a local business and we are doing various things with the tanks. I would like to meet with you sometime and discuss the program with you. Would you be able to meet sometime? I am available this week just about anyday, but next week I will be out of town on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Just let me know if and when you could meet with us at school. Thanks again for your inquiry.
I replied back asked some general questions. Im not sure how you guys wanted to get the ball rolling on this or what the first step would be. I don't mind meeting with him or at least giving him a call to see how we could help. I did tell him I may not be the best contact as this isn't my project and Im not an officer or anything but I absolutely don't mind helping in any way shape or form. Just let me know what you guys had in mind

Well talking to Fuzzy a little more this wouldnt be a bad idea........if somehow we could get all the kids in the classes with the tanks an account on this forum and give them the tiitle of maybe ,Student, Teacher or Jr Member so we know they are the people with our donation tanks. This way they can come here and ask us questions aboit whats going on with there fish/tank, share pics and give us updates of how its all going.

What I was saying to Brian as he posed the question about them already having tanks donated is this. This is not for an office decoration or just a tank off in a classroom corner. They are actually using these as learning tools. I would assume various fish. possible breeding. So if we helped this school in particular we could open the doors to many club members and lifetime fish enthusiasts. We really could do something positive helping several classes in their learning process, mentoring and getting many people into the hobby

OK, so before you flush the Kribs donate them to the school lol that is a easy fish to learn on. also i would be a big help if i lived closer! but that is really far from me. once they get to the point of needing fish i will donate some for sure, Hey maybe we can even do a swap at the school one day where all this is going on? that would be kool.
if this takes off maybe i will try and set somethign up here with the huntsville folks to do the same thing. but lets take it one step at a time. I have a guy here in huntsville now with 3200gal fish room that is going to start doing my breeding for me. and he lives 10 min form my house so its like i just adopted a fish room. all his tanks were wiped out after last years tornadows. He use to be a huge feather fin Breeder ,and lost over $5000,00 worth of fish and he let his fish room go down hill after the loss! i can understand his pain... i am helping him get colonys back up and going and in return i get a fish hatchery! lol.. He has even writen huge articals about featherfins. He does not like to deal with the public much though, thats my job.
So i will have more than enough fish growing out here to donate to a school here in huntsville if this all works out on your end=)... I think this is a awesome way to get people in to the hobby, good job guys. This is what its all about.

Need tank space, plus the kribs wont work for the school. Right now we are thinking of giving them like a regular sunshine peacock male with some regular female and some albino females. This way they can get the fish to breed and in a seperate tank, 20g propably, they can grow out the fry and see the regular to albino ratio. Learn a little bit about genetics.
