I don't get your gripe. Anywhere we put it, it will be out of the way for most of the members. We have had 3 of them less than a mile from this location and for the most part they were pretty good. It is off I 40, under 10 minutes away from the airport. Maybe 4 minutes off I 40 which is a major interstate.
Mark is coming from Paris TN, Jess is coming from Paducah KY, Mike is coming from Knoxville, Glen and a few others are coming from AL. All double or triple your drive.
The place we got at the park will be covered so if it were to rain, you won't get wet unless you try. It is from 1-5 in May, unless something freaky happens, I don't see it being under 70 degrees. The payoff if weather is nice is a nice park for kids to play while we do our thing.
I highly doubt that this location will hurt our turnout. We are going to have a great time. Only people that will be hurt are the ones that decided 6 extra minutes was too far.

The part that makes me happy is that I only have my 3 year old who will be 4 at that time on Saturday and Sunday. Now would I rather bring him to a church hall and let him be bored and irritate everyone(trust me my kid is mean) or would I rather him tire out playing on the playground? For those of us with kids it will help introduce them to more of this hobby than just their parents..See more fish,,a huge playground, and I am not opposed to BYOF if the board will supply charcoal. With that said it is also closer to Jons if anyone needs fish,food,rock,sand, or hell just to see the 340. |

This is a nice park and is less then 20 minutes from down town. Thanks for finding a place officers. Hopefully I can make it.

I don't think he was bashing, just jumping to conclusion, getting upset, and then forgetting the original reason he was mad and moving to reason #2 when reason #1 was solved.

I just think i really love fish and all the friends i have made here because of my passion. Sucks when we loose good people/friends over stupid S%#? We have lost a few in a short period of time. Could be the meds talking here im going to bed

Swap on my Bday...sounds like a celebration! I will be attending. Now completely off topic, I had the chance about 9 months ago to walk through the old state pen and talk about a chilling feeling. I took some pics of inside D block, it was crazy.

Thank you board members for the outstanding job you are doing!!!!!! Keep up the great work Jess! IMO we should be trying to locate a permanent location for the swaps instead of moving all over the place.
