Hey guys! I'm going to try to have a couple t-shirts made, and sell them at the swap-meet with most of the profit being donated to the club. I'm planning to feature our fishy logo, but was wondering what people would want, other than a big fish on the front? I could make them Spring Swap meet 2012 shirts, or just MCAA shirts in general. I think a front-pocket/back full image would look nice, but printing on the back raises the cost by ~$5 per shirt.
I know for sure I can do small color logos, and big black/whtie logos, I'm hoping to get a larger colored version available as well if I can get a vector-graphic editing program to recolorize the image for me (I had a friendly neighborhood graphics-wizard vectorize the colored image for me so it can be printed bigger, but I don't want to impose on her any further)
What would be a reasonable price to charge for the shirts? I was thinking $15 max, but any less than $10 and it's hard to break even on small quantities, which doesn't leave much for the club donation.
I suppose I should turn this into a poll, but for now, just shout out with opinions! I figure if I bring a half-dozen shirts and they sell like hotcakes, maybe we can do a club fundraiser for the next swap meet.
So -- the questions I need you guys to answer are :
1) Swap-meet shirt, or just MCAA? If just MCAA I'll probably just let the logo fish stand alone, but if I do a swap-meet shirt I'll add something like "MCAA Swap Meet, Spring 2012"
2) How do you feel about black-and-white logos? I thought about making some smaller ones with just the line art, as "color-it-yourself" kids shirts, maybe even bring some fabric paints and set up a picnic table as a painting station. Unfortunately kids shirts aren't any cheaper, but it might keep them busy for awhile.
3) Front only vs Front/Back? Price would need to go up about $5 for front/back. If we didn front/back would you want full size logos on both sides? "pocket" logo on front and big logo on back? Logo on back and text on front? text on front and logo on back?
4) Price pain tolerance. Would you buy a shirt for $20? $15? $10? I don't think any lower than $10 would even be feasible, and at that price-point it would definately have to be front-only.
5) Sizes? I was thinking a pile of XL with a few 2XL (unless I kid color-it kids shirt, then I'd probably get some adult smalls and maybe some youth larges).
I can't front too much cash, so I'll probably only be looking at 5-10 shirts total unless I get totally overwhelmed with positive feedback.
