I like 'em both. The driftwood actually works really well with the rock in the first tank, i think. It's unusual, and I likes it.

You have two seriously nice tanks. Cool piece of driftwood. I don't think there's much to do to make them a whole lot better. The only thing I can suggest for the larger tank is maybe trying adding a few smaller rocks around and near that driftwood, but separated from the larger pile. That could tie it in more with the rocky part and still keep that open sandy part. I noticed the aquascaping contest entries do that a lot. I've always drooled over this tank, and it's a great example of how to tie in the wood elements to the stone by placing some stone from the main pile near the wood and peppering in some small stones around both elements: showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2007/show5.htmlIn the smaller tank, maybe try making one pile more noticeably different in size than the other so the left and right aren't so symmetrical. Try to make one of them the obvious center of attention somehow and see if you like that better than having two similar sized piles competing for your eyeballs. But like I said, your tanks are pretty sweet as-is. It's mostly personal taste at this point.

Tanks look good, but what about some tall flowing plants, artificial in this case, since there are Africans present. Just my opinion, but I am a plant tank guy. Backgrounds look good.

Really like both of them. Only thing I would want is a little more open space on the left hand side of the first tank, like a tunnel or bridge.
