Ok this is the 3rd week in a row that Usps has lost my box! the boxes are leaving huntsville and getting to B-ham then WTF vanish! last box showed up at my firends house with the box half crushed, and a poped bag... 2 dead fish. rest made it. I will use Fedex or UPS from now oh i have had way better success with them. the price is a little more to ship because i can use the priority flat rate boxes =( but worth it if people get thier fish alive... just my 2 cents. the box i sent out last week still has not made it to the destination! i sent it out on Monday!!! show its still in B-ham where it ended up on the 2ed day shipped. I'M done with them, and this time they will be paying me! because its passed the 5 day mark! those 30$ (adult fire fin) just because 200$ fish!

I bought a small Metaframe tank off eBay. The seller packed it exceptionally well, but the USPS was still able to break the glass 'cause they have extreme skills in that area. I filed a claim and the USPS refunded the whole amount plus shipping! I was shocked. I sent them pictures of the packaging and the broken glass.

guess im lucky out of all the boxes of fish i have gotten over the yrs i only had a couple from usps that was in bad shape and one of those was from leaking bags. i think they all make mistakes but if the price is about the same i go with Brown UPS never had any problem with them

I have had some issues with USPS but not many. Usually its only on Priority shipping not express. Because although Priority says 2-3days, its not guaranteed so if it takes a week then so be it. And thats how they look at it.

I've found insuring a box for $100 or more gets MUCH better service from the USPS! You must be sure you keep your paperwork so if you need to file a claim, you can. I pack the using best methods and materials and DARE them to lose it, delay it, mash it or do whatever other evil things they do in transit! As with all else in life: Hold their feet to the fire and the results improve immediately! FWIW, Priority is all I use now, "Express" is a joke, 2-3X the price and usually the same service or sometimes worse!

I have used USPS for years, but do agree, the Priority 2-3 day route is the preferred method. I have sent and received items; fish, plants, & drygoods; to and from Calif., Oregon, Utah, Texas, Mich. NY, NJ, Mass., Ohio, Ky, Fla., etc...........and have had only 2 of maybe 200 boxes lost. They were eventually found. The first was 1 of 4 boxes out of Fla. and it was found on day 6, and all fish lived. The other was out of Utah, a single box, lost for 2 weeks, all fish dead. The rest have been on time and almost never crushed. All in all they still do a decent job for the price, IMHO. UPS and Fedex have sent me crushed boxes too, so....... None lost by these guys, but then I haven't used their services much either. To each their own, I reckon.... Interesting to read comments on your alls experiences.
