Glen, did the box ever show up ?
I used USPS Priority this week and received a package in 2 days, from NY, w/o problem.

Nope I'm a fish killer. It's lost forever... Worst part is I used breathing bags and they will die slow from starving ! Post office did nothing to make it up to me... Not even let me ship another package for free....from now on I'm doing ups.

That's a total shame. Both of the times my boxes were lost by them, they were eventually found, and since no ins. was bought, they told me the same...no replacement. The ins. more than doubled the shipping price though. Since they had only lost 2 of maybe 200 of mine, I still think they have good results most times, IMO. Of my 2 lost, one had dead fish and the other all lived, so I have only had one box to die in all my experiences with them. I reckon it is a luck of the draw though, if no extra ins. is paid for.
Do you know, does UPS or Fedex include the ins. coverage for replacement, or is it extra like the USPS ?

Ups does 100$ I think. U have to pay more for extra. Also the shipping is only like 6$ more and the update tracking info more often.

I agree the updated tracking info. is more often and more explicit. If all are covered for replacement for only $6 for up to $100 coverage, that isn't bad priced coverage. I was unaware of their details. Thanks for enlightening me.

I'm not a huge fan of USPS... generally only time I ask for it is to save no the cost of shipping plants that are hardy... like Java moss ... lol I prefer UPS... though sometimes I do use airport to airport shipping, costly though runs me about 125 ish from CA to Chatt town. Though that is same day delivery and you have to pick it up.

I can say I just received a Live order of fish from USPS... box undamaged and in perfect condition. All fish 60+ alive, all assassin snails killing off my ramshorns like no ones business. Seller also gave some very healthy 1-2cup fulls of java moss. Not that I need it but lol nice jester.

I made a post just like this a few weeks ago and totally agree there tracking #'s say 2 days and most packages are taking 3-6 days to get there. in the past 2 months 5/37 packages took 2 days all the rest toom 3 or more. Its always sad the see the post office site saying expected delivery april 2nd and showing up on the 6th.

You know,...you gotta wonder if the USPS service is specific to one area of distribution vs. another, since there seems to be such a difference of service experience from one hobbyist to another. I have often wondered if certain local P.O. branches or main hubs are crappy vs. another. I know the one in Salt Lake seems to lose stuff more frequently than others. My experience only though.
