I have only a few days to bid on this, so I really want opinions. I have heard one should buy 2 stage valves or needle valves, or something like that. I have read one needs a bubble counter and diffuser. This description reads like all I need is included, but I'm not sure. I've never bought one and know little about the details. Advice needed and appreciated !
Is there really expiration dates on the tanks ? That is mentioned in the description too.

The tanks have to be "within test date" to be exchanged. I don't know what the test is, or entails, but it has to be within date. Which means don't get a pretty tank. When you get it refilled they will just do an exchange and you'll end up with a crappy looking one anyway.
In order to have a complete setup you need the regulator (with low and high pressure gauges), a solenoid, a needle valve, a bubble counter, tubing, a check valve and a difusser in addition to the tank and co2.
From looking at the picture it looks like you would still need the needle valve, bubble counter, tubing, check valve and difusser.
However, the tanks are pretty pricey. There was a guy who had empty tanks here for sale on Craigslist and he wanted $40 for the 5lb empty tank. I got a 20lb tank, which was more than I needed, but the "cheaper in the long run" tank. If you have to buy a 20lb tank from the gas place here they run about $100. Looking around on the web it seems somewhere around $70 is the going rate for a new, empty 5lb tank.
I don't know a ton about this as I am just getting started into the co2 injection myself, so I hope that helps a little.

Looks like a pretty decent deal. I've always heard if you don't do one of the big boy Victor regulators, the Azoo are pretty nice. After reading over that sell, looks like you will still need some CO2 tubing (don't get regular airline, CO2 will break it down), a bubble counter, and a diffuser. Also due to the bubble counter not already being installed on the regulator, you will need some fittings as well if I had to guess, unless you do the counter in-line instead of mounted on the reg. Since the manufacture date on that tank was May '11, you should be able to get it refilled instead of doing exchanges.
In short, had I not spent about $300 bucks today buy varying stuff to get my tank up, I would probably jump on it.

It's not great, Rick. I wouldn't pay $119 for that. No way. It's the Azoo regulator which is the one I told you NOT to get.

---------------------------------------- Bunnie. If I was to buy this regulator what size tank should I be looking to connect it to ? Any specific tank connector or thread ? Would it matter if the tank is new or used ? Would hate to get a tank and regulator from diff. places and they not connect without buying more parts somewhere. Also, if I was to buy this and wanted to run it to more than one tank, can one buy some kind of splitter to run lines to multiple tanks ? If so, what word or series of words would I google or search for on e-bay or Amazon in order to find such a splitter.

Yes, you can get a splitter, and actually I saw a regulator with a 6 way splitter on it already for just over $100 - if that's your intention, that would be a better deal.
Tank size doesn't matter as long as it's a fire extinguisher or CO2 tank with a standard valve on it.

Do you remember the link to the one you saw that had the splitter and was a better deal ? I'd like to look @ it.

This is an Aquateck brand. Ok brand ?
Looks like the bubble counter is a cheap plastic add on piece though. What do you think ? Can one find these 6 way valves easily elsewhere ? Or is this set up a terrific deal ?
And,.....would one still need the bubble counter if one was splitting the gas between several or up to the six tanks, or would one need 6 bubble counters so every tank was being monitored ? Seems like the pressure coming out to all 6 outlets would be controlled seperately. Looks like it in the pic. anyway.

Yes you would want a counter for each tank. I don't know about the brand. That would be a good question for the planted tank forum.
