So the colony of endler's have i must of not liked the shipping portion lol 70% of the colony now has ich. 9 of the 60+ have died.
So due to the treatment I was doing not working... I broke down... because regardless of what I did, nothing helped. Endler's naturally can live in 80-82 degree water... Ich shouldn't be able too... sigh.
So I've dropped the fish in smaller tanks (10g's), doing 25% water change every 12 hours ... water temp at a nice 80.5-81 degrees. And the part I broke down ... Ich treatment chemicals. It's always my last resort, but we'll see.
The 12 hour water change of 25% with new treatment is due because the high % of those who have it and how much.
The % that doesn't have it is quarantined by themselves and being treated just the same, with the exception of 12 hours ... I'm doing 24 hours.
I'm just glad where I live water/sewage is free! lol... might be a reason why I have so many tanks. hehe
Any who my goal in the worst case scenario is to keep a male and female alive. If I have to ditch the rest to secure this I will. Though I doubt it will occur. I have enough tanks I can keep the colony split up without worry. If one or two of the portions don't make it but one or two do I'll be fine.

Quick Cure works for me in like 12 hrs. If you have treated, you will be fine. If I see ich, I use it, and fish recover fine.

i always keep a large bottle of it, cause you never know. Usually I can cure it w/o chemicals.. but this one is just too bad.

Quick cure works for me too. H20 changes can't hurt though. Sounds like you are on the right track for at least some to survive. The strongest will survive, probably. I reckon they got chilled during transit, huh ? Good luck !

I've always used Quick Cure. Never done the salt thing, raising heat, etc.

I have tried raising temps and adding salt, it never got rid of it fast enough for my small fish. I vote for Quick Cure as well. Add it and the next day you will see dramatic results.

the temp thing only works if it is not to far gone, but keeping the temp up will kill the eggs! and slow the spread to new fish. once the ich is in there gills you need meds. They must have got hit hard with it! sounds like it took over fast. I would try to get that temp up a little more if the fish can handle 82-83 i would have ti at 83.

I'd say I'm down to a 30% infected rate now. Those infected are only showing signs on fins with only 1-3 spots max. With the exception of one fish who has about 5 spots.
Endler's can naturally stay at the higher temps compared to guppies. Which is a great benefit. I'm going to keep the temp the same for now since so the population is decreasing in sickness. At 10pm tonight when I go to do the next treatment, if it gets worse I'll increase the temp 1-2 degrees.
As for eggs, they are live bearer like guppies, plus found in a naturally warmer water than their kin. So the 81 temp wont kill anything. Just make them more at ease and grow faster.
I'll let you know how they are later today.

I wish you the best. I just got over an ich infestation that killed 6 fis. I did the heat and salt treatment for 3 days after I saw the last dot disappear, but I know have quick cure and that will be my first option if this ever happens again. Good luck.

Checked on them again. Probably at 20% now. Most are loving it. Those that had it worse are now with 1-4 spots max.

Since the % is down and staying around 20% I'm switching to 24 hour water change. Which means I'll change in the morning.
I'm also breaking down the 55g tank they started in, due to my moving in a couple weeks. Gives me a head start, they'll be the first tank up and running on day 1 of the move.

So basically... no other died. down to about 3 still infected.
However one delivered today, 10+ fry... I'd say have wont make it the other half we'll see. She might have delivered early do to stress. Sacs on the remaining are intact whereas the others aren't.
