That is one of the largest catfish I've ever seen! If people only knew what was swimming in some of the lakes with them they might think again about swimming there. I was bass fishing one day on Lake Lanier in Georgia, and my crank bait got hung up on a stump in shallow water, near the bank. Just in front of the stump was what I thought to be a long tree trunk laying on the bottom. We were in an 18" bass boat and it looked like it was as long as our boat. When we got near it, it started to swim away. It was a massive gar, the biggest one I've ever seen, and he had a long snout full of teeth.

Alligator Gar are in that state and can get 10 feet and weigh around 300 pounds. I bet that size fish would scare anyone out of the water

Hey Fuzzy did it say what that cat weighed ? i caught a 49 lbs cat that was about 4 ft long and the cat in that pic looks alot bigger then the one i caught

Need to go down to Chattanooga and check out their latest exhibit -- river giants! I think they'll have some of these monster catfish! We missed the members-only opening night .

hey Jess if this freaks you out watch the show RIVER MONSTERS they catch some catfish that have teeth like a house cat and some of the bigger ones have been know to eat people, but we don`t have those cats here in the our rivers they are fishing all over the world like SUDAN, CHINE and INDIA

Yea, I've already been scarred for life when someone told me about a water skiier that fell into a pit of water moccassins and died! Needless to say, I DON'T SKI ANYMORE!
