queen snake. Very common water snake. I have caught dozens over the years. I always release them but like to get them away from my bait. I have had them get into minnow buckets when I wasn't looking and start snacking on my bait.

Doesn't matter much to me what kind of snake.....me and snakes don't share the same space. I try to just always let them go on their way.

To heck with that. When your living off MREs for awhile in the woods snake meat is yummy. Nothing living is safe around me when my tummy is calling for food.

The only time I've ever seen this in the wild was during a Michigan trip I took two summers ago. Snake in the middle of this picture I took with a fish that appeared to be entirely too big to eat
