I don't understand what I'm seeing at the bottom of the tank... the 2x4 looking piece. Surely that's not part of the finished look??

I'm talking about the 2x4 braces below the tank...not the flat pieces inside the tank. Looks like the tank is standing on a homemade platform on top of the stand.

If I had to guess I would say its part of the crate. You can see the top is still wrapped.

YOUR RITE BRIAN its sitting on a 2x4 and steel frame but when its in place it has a really nice oak cabinet front that screws to it and all you see is the tank with doors under it

Since Oceanic has been bought out....Is their warranty going to be honored? And moving a glass tank of this size! Yee Haaaaaaaa! If the stand was not sold by the tank manufacturer, the tank warranty may be invalid. Glass is prettiest but anything over 240 gallons is a hernia waiting to happen. On a different angle...I have had more than one issue with Oceanic & Perfecto tanks that have mitered and glued corners to make the frame. "Issues" being a rather spectacular waterfall IN MY BEDROOM when a mitered corner failed. Said "issue" resulted in 90% of 180 gallons of water wandering around my new flooring and exploring my finished basement, so let's just say that left a bad taste in my mouth for anything Oceanic or without a one-piece, cast frame. The only thing I've ever seen more spectacular was when my 53 week old, 500 gallon, acrylic AQUA-ART tank sprung a leak in my living room years ago. Yes, the warranty was for one year, yes, I asked them to help and Richard Gould's (owner of Aqua-Art) solution was to send a Gatoraid bottle half full of glue. The bottle leaked in transit and the UPS man hated me forever for ordering something Haz-Mat that was not declared Haz-Mat. The tank cost $2400 and never held water again. The company is still in business and now claims to offer a lifetime warranty. Right. Admittedly, these are the worst experiences I've had in 28 years of fish-keeping but I sure won't use an Aqua-Art tank or a tank with a pieced together frame in my house! To add something positive, now that Tenecor is gone, I do know an acrylic tank manufacturer in Cincinnati that does great work, is competitively priced and with a warranty I trust. Not trying to de-rail your thread at all. Just advising serious caution on buying a big tank with a questionable warranty or glued frames.

And from what I understand, All Glass is now technically Aqueon? Seems like we have a monopoly forming! I'd be interested in more info on the Cincinnati company. Do they have a website?
