Awsome. Glad to hear that, but maybe non board members should get more involved and start doing these things

Sounds like we have some interest. We have breifly talked about a couple of committees, and have three we can start on, and Rick may have another he will want to add.
1) Baps- need at least three members to run
2) New member recruiters- as many as possible
3) swap planning- at least 5 to plan and coordinate with presidente
If we can get these up and running, most of which can be done via phone or forum/ email we can add more committees.
I will make new hidden boards for committees to hash stuff out in private. Hopefully most things can get coordinated there. I look forward to seeing posters on this thread sign up.
Also, I need a couple of volunteers on the side to help with tank donation project. I have a couple of tanks ready to go and need to find teachers that would like to have them as part of their class. May also need help setting up.

just my opinion, but do we really need a committee for recruiting? Every active member should be doing this

just my 2 cents on the issue of a recruiting committee...What I saw work in the past was a rather gregarious fellow that was our membership chairman. He would pass out flyers to fish and pet stores, announcing meetings and AT the meetings would meet every new face then with some quick conversation find out what they kept or liked, then he would introduce this new person to a like-minded hobbyist, hand them off then go back on the hunt for a new face coming in. He would check in with them near the end of the meeting, get their number and follow up later to inform of meetings, auctions etc. He also issued membership cards, collected dues, reported membership #'s at meetings etc. This fellow was a nice guy...nothing like me LOL. JMO and it may not be worth 2 cents!

Great idea, I think that is exactly what we need.
