As stated at the swap, we are looking to set up committees for a few things we need to get moving.
Most of this should be able to be done by phone and computer, but if you can get together that will be great as well.
1) BAPS- we need a leader, I have nominated Mark several times and I hope he takes the bait. He will need a few others to join him because it will be a lot of work and planning, but well worth the effort.
2) Swap Planning- Need a leader to coordinate with Board and volunteers to help implement plan. Set up, clean up, activities during, and maybe post swap party. Endless possibilities.
3) Advertising, Marketing, Welcoming, Retain- Need someone to coordinate a way to get new members to find club, welcome, and retain members. This will involve getting on national forums and finding people that are local, handing out cards/flyers at local pet stores, and advertising campaign for club.
If you are interested in any of these committees contact Jess or Myself and we will set up boards that only can be seen by committee members so they can privately hash out ideas and work on projects.
If we get several members to participate, it will be less work for all. You need to be a club member to be on committee.
This last committee is open for all club or not. We need to find teachers that need tanks for the donation tanks. Alan donated a complete set up, and Brian has a 55g tank. I also have a couple tanks I can donate. If you know a teacher and want to help, contact them and then contact me. This way we can reach the next generation of hobbyist, and educate them on how to successfully maintain a tank.
If we get participation with these committees, we can expand as we go. If we want to continue the pic of the month, let me know. We need at least 5 pics submitted every month.
