Thanks for pic's and info. James. I think what I saw was the black snake, your fourth posted pic., but again I can't be sure until I see it again.

a small packet of sulpher, tied and "inserted " in the "hidey-hole" would drive it out fairly quickly. within an hour or two at most. keep string tied to it for removal supposedly Blood meal will keep them away but is great fertilizer and not really poisonous to much of anything just a major deterrent.

that is my understanding-- I have not used it personally cause I have guineas and peacocks LOL I would not put it IN the pond as it can cause ammonia spike but arround would bbe fine.. IT supposedly does the job...

note that the blood meal is supposedly a deterrent.. I would drive the snake out an d away first!!! us e the sulpher bag trick and it should go bye-bye

Rick just catch him and take him a couple of miles down the road to who ever you don`t like and turn the snake loose in their yard. and sit back and watch the fun

i have played with snakes ever since i was a kid its a wonder i didn`t get bit when i was younger. now i only catch black snakes . chicken snakes and garders but if i had to im not scared to catch one of the bad boys that can hurt you.
